Build authority and become more trusted
Unlike traditional networking communities built around individual professionals and sales relationships, The Authority Exchange is a company-to-company community. Authorized representatives can register their companies to reap the benefits of the exchange. This is a solicitation-free zone where vetted companies are matched with other companies to share and build digital authority. Here’s how.
Build no-cost, relevant links
Links from relevant, credible websites are an important signal of digital authority and can help improve how search engines understand and evaluate your business. Members are matched with other vetted companies and given opportunities to give and receive relevant links that strengthen their presence across the web.
Build no-cost citations
Citations and mentions across credible digital sources help establish that your company is real, relevant and recognized beyond its own website. These signals can support visibility across search and AI. Members are matched with other vetted companies to create meaningful citations and mentions in relevant places.
Participate in jam sessions
Authority is also influenced by the strength of your presence across important platforms. Jam Sessions bring members together to build real engagement in targeted places, such as LinkedIn company pages, helping businesses strengthen their visibility, following and authority.
Source opporunities
Paid members can be matched with relevant companies to explore joint projects, strategic alliances, investment opportunities and other collaborations. These relationships create new opportunities while expanding where and how participating companies are seen and recognized.

Our community is different
Our focus is on building authority, not networking.
The Authority Exchange is a vetted business-to-business community with no direct messaging, spam or selling. Based on your profile and preferences, we recommend companies for links, citations and other authority-building opportunities. You approve every match before anything happens.
Join, receive your matches, approve what makes sense and build your digital authority across search and AI.

- You stay in control. Every authority exchange requires approval.
- Authorized representatives only. Members must represent their organization.
- No link builders or agencies. Membership is for operating businesses.
- No sales or solicitation. That's not what this community is for.
-
What is The Authority Exchange?
The Authority Exchange is a community we created where companies can build digital authority with other businesses they may never otherwise have been able to connect with.
This isn't a traditional networking community. You don't join to make connections, pitch services or sell to other members. Our system identifies relevant authority-building opportunities, matches companies, and lets you decide which opportunities make sense for your organization.
-
What is digital authority?
Search engines and AI systems use signals from across the web to help determine which businesses and sources are credible, relevant and trustworthy enough to surface in their results and answers.
Authority signals can include links, citations and mentions, reviews, traffic, social signals and more. For business owners and marketing leaders, building these signals independently can be labor-intensive and expensive. That's why we created The Authority Exchange.
Members are matched with relevant, non-competitive businesses to create opportunities to build and share authority.
-
How does The Authority Exchange work?
- Join for free and create your company profile. Your profile includes preferences for how you want to participate.
- Tell us who you want to exchange authority with. Your preferences help our system understand which types of businesses are and aren't relevant to your organization.
- Receive your matches. The system identifies companies you can give authority to and receive authority from. Participation is reciprocal, so members must be prepared to do both.
- Approve the opportunity. Nothing happens automatically. If the match makes sense and there are no conflicts, you approve the exchange.
- We help with placement. Once approved, our team facilitates the placement.
-
Who can join The Authority Exchange?
Membership is open to authorized owners, executives and directors of legitimate, registered companies.
Freelancers, link builders, marketing companies, agencies and salespeople are not accepted into the community. All companies and representatives are validated before membership is approved.
-
Why is The Authority Exchange free?
We created The Authority Exchange to make authority building accessible to legitimate businesses without requiring a large marketing budget.
In return for facilitating the Exchange, we simply ask members to share authority with us by providing The Authority Exchange with a link and identifying us as a preferred source on Google.
-
Why are links relevant to me?
When another credible website links to your website, it creates a signal connecting their digital presence to yours. Search engines have long used links as one of the signals for understanding the relevance and authority of websites, and links can also help people and AI systems discover information about your company across the web.
The challenge is that earning relevant links can take considerable time, outreach and investment. The Authority Exchange creates opportunities for vetted, non-competitive businesses to build these connections with one another.
-
What is a citation?
A citation is an online reference or mention of your company by another source. It doesn't always have to include a link. A company might mention your business, reference your expertise, include you as a resource or identify your organization as a preferred source.
These mentions help create a broader digital footprint for your company. Instead of your business being the only source saying who you are and what you do, other independent sources across the web help reinforce that information.
-
What is Collaboration?
Collaboration is a paid area of the community exclusively for members interested in working with other members beyond authority exchange.
Members can be matched for strategic alliances, partnerships, projects and investment opportunities. Once you're a member of The Authority Exchange, you can upgrade to Collaboration to receive notifications about relevant opportunities.

Our story
The Authority Exchange was founded by digital marketing agency owners after we lost an opportunity for a surprisingly simple reason: we didn't rank strongly enough in the prospect's market.
We work in this industry, so we understood exactly what it would take to change that. Competing organically in an extremely expensive and competitive market could require building hundreds of authority signals, particularly links. Doing that through conventional methods would require a significant investment.
That led to a simple question: How can legitimate businesses build authority without every authority signal having to be bought?
We realized other businesses faced exactly the same problem. What if credible companies could help one another build the signals they all needed, while maintaining control over who they associated with and what they approved?
That's how The Authority Exchange was born.
